Animal Companionship Association “Blue Moon” in Safaga City, in cooperation with the Veterinary Directorate of the Red Sea, continues its campaigns to reduce the spread of stray cats and dogs on the streets of Hurdagah City, through surgical procedures to spay and sterilize stray dogs, which continue until the end of this week.
There are also groups for hunting stray dogs by trained personnel and the dogs are being hunted through nets, narcotics tube and cages.
Monica Kerira, head of the Blue Moon Center, added that she receives animals from groups and prepares them for spaying and sterilizing of females, and there are 4 tables equipped for operations at the same time at the association headquarters.
Monica affirmed that the “Polomon” farm is in Gurudagah to breed, regularly care for and sterilize stray animals in Gurudagha, the farm has cats, dogs, beauties, horses and a group of homeless animals, and these animals receive full care.

Today we met in Safaga to prepare for the 3 castration days in Safaga, 13.14.15.11.24 we were asked by Mayor General Mohamed Salah to help with the problem of street animals. As part of the instructions of General Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea.
We receive support from the government, a pic-up for transporting the animals with a driver and 2 helpers, as well as a location that we can use as a clinic.
The veterinary union provides food and accommodation, and coordinates everything between the government and Bluemoon Animalcenter Hurghada.
The local animal rights activists and Safaga Katzenhilfe have come together to help.
Help comes from Hurghada from the Animal Care Center Hurghada team.
Shaima Adel is also there. For President Sisi’s 2030 Strategy. All dogs should be vaccinated against rabies by 2030. Of course we castrate them straight away.
We are all very happy about this new beginning in animal protection on the Red Sea. Together we are strong, and this is another step towards reducing misery. Castration and education are the cornerstones of sustainable animal protection, and we stand for that.
A little potpourri of the preparations and the first animals that have already been captured for tomorrow. 13.11.24 / 07.00 it starts. Anyone who would like to help can contact us, starting tomorrow on 01008592824. Helping hands are always needed.

Safaga 1st day
A potpourri from today
We neutered 9 dogs and 16 cats, and caught many more. But due to a few bumps that can happen on the first day in a new area, we were not able to castrate all of the animals caught today. They’ll be put under the scalpel first thing in the morning.
A big thank you to the mayor’s helpers, they did a great job even though it was their first time doing it. With the support of Sheima Adel and Waleed (blowgun shooter from Cairo) they caught many dogs.
The animal protectors on site and the members of Safaga Katzenhilfe and Seelen Katzen Safaga e.v. were fully motivated. you were great, thank you very much.
Animal Care Center Hurghada gave their full effort, using the blowgun and catching them was just great, thank you very much.
Yvonne, our blowpipe lady, every shot is a hit.
Shaima Adel and Dr. Shenuda from the Hurghada Veterinary Office and his helpers were able to add a few more dogs to their list for the 2030 strategy.
Thanks to Dr. Susanne from the Safage Veterinary Office, who stepped in without hesitation when we were missing an assistant and gave us a hand.
And last but not least, a huge thank you to my team Vets Dr. Boshre, Dr. Girgis, Dr. Sandy, in the office and all-rounder Jusra, helper Ali (known as mimish) the guy who is simply needed. And Usha, our driver, lends a hand wherever he is asked.
It was a big challenge for everyone today. Thank you very much, see you tomorrow.

Day 3 in Safaga potpourri
We are all very tired because we have neutered over 50 animals in 3 days with only 1 vet and 3 junior vets. since one of the vets had to live us. That took a lot out of all of us. Tomorrow the last animals will be allowed to leave the clinic.
Everyone who was there showed an incredible performance that gives you the courage and strength to keep going.
Safaga, November 13-15, 24 a few impressions
Unfortunately, we had to leave with a very reduced team of doctors. But despite everything, we castrated 56 animals. I would like to thank everyone who supported and pitched in, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without your help. you were all great.
